About
The Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) oversees the administration of a half‑percent sales tax dedicated to regional transportation improvements. Through the 1988 Measure C program and the 2004 Measure J initiative—totaling $1.1 billion and $2 billion respectively—CCTA funds a wide range of infrastructure projects and services across Contra Costa County, with Measure J extending through 2034. In addition to managing these tax‑derived funds, CCTA serves as the county’s Congestion Management Agency, advising on the strategic allocation of state and federal transportation resources, and administers the Transportation Funds for the Clean Air Program to support environmentally sustainable mobility solutions.
