Founded in 2001, Design without Borders (DwB Africa) applies user-centered design to solve complex challenges for organizations, businesses, and communities in low- and middle-income countries. Their core expertise lies in industrial, product, and service design, employing participatory processes that deeply involve end-users and local stakeholders. DwB delivers end-to-end solutions—from needs assessment and pre-procurement advice to the development of products and services that increase local business value, improve livelihoods, and support humanitarian relief. By collaborating with NGOs, local governments, private sector partners, and multilateral agencies, DwB positions human-centered design as a catalyst for social change and economic development.
