Fluvius is the public utility network operator for all Flemish cities and municipalities, overseeing roughly 210,000 km of electricity, natural gas, sewage, and heat pipelines, as well as about 1.2 million street‑light points. With a workforce of around 6,000, the company ensures reliable connections for households and businesses while managing the full lifecycle of the infrastructure. Focused on the energy transition and climate adaptation, Fluvius is modernising and digitising the electricity grid to accommodate rising demand and increasing renewable input. It deploys smart digital meters, pilots new technologies for electricity and sewage, and collaborates closely with governments, enterprises, and citizens.
