The Instituto de Tecnologia de Alimentos (ITAL), part of the São Paulo State Agency for Agribusiness (APTA) and the Secretariat of Agriculture, is a leading research and development center for food, beverage, and packaging technologies. Founded in 1963, ITAL operates across three core domains: (1) Food Technology, with specialized units covering meat, cereals, chocolate, confectionery, bakery, dairy, fruits, vegetables, industrial process engineering, and post‑harvest technology; (2) Science & Quality, providing chemical, physical, sensory, and microbiological analysis labs; and (3) Packaging, focusing on metal, glass, plastic, cellulose materials, and logistics solutions.
