About
Keys Energy Services (KEYS) is the municipal electric utility serving the Lower Florida Keys, delivering reliable power to more than 28,000 residential and commercial customers from Key West to the Seven‑Mile Bridge. Owned by the City of Key West and overseen by an elected five‑member Utility Board, KEYS imports the majority of its electricity via a mainland interconnection (the TIELINE) and participates in the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s All Requirements Project to leverage shared resources and achieve cost efficiencies. As a nationally recognized Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3), KEYS focuses on operational excellence, emergency backup generation, and forward‑looking green initiatives that promote energy conservation and environmental stewardship—making it an attractive employer for professionals committed to sustainable utility services.
