The NYU Langone Cochlear Implant Center, founded in 1984, is a nationally recognized hub for advanced hearing restoration. As the first facility in the eastern United States to perform a multichannel cochlear implant in an adult, the center leverages NYU’s academic and clinical expertise to deliver cutting‑edge surgical and rehabilitative care. The center provides a full spectrum of services—including cochlear and auditory brainstem implants, comprehensive audiology, pediatric and adult otolaryngology, and post‑operative aural rehabilitation such as speech and auditory‑verbal therapy. Serving patients of all ages, including veterans and individuals with single‑sided deafness or other complex hearing impairments, the team combines surgical precision with multidisciplinary support to restore functional hearing and improve quality of life.
