RAICES is a Texas‑based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides comprehensive legal and social services to refugees, immigrants, and their families across the United States. Founded in 1986 in response to restrictive immigration policies, the organization offers a full spectrum of representation—including asylum, VAWA, U/T visas, special immigrant juvenile status, and deportation defense—along with refugee resettlement and impact litigation. Accredited by the Department of Justice and partnered with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, RAICES combines grassroots advocacy with national reach to ensure equitable access to the courts and to keep families together. Its distinctive approach blends community‑driven support, universal representation, and a commitment to dismantling bureaucratic barriers that keep vulnerable populations isolated.
