About
The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) is the technical arm of the American Trucking Associations, dedicated to advancing truck equipment, technology, and maintenance practices. Since its inception in 1979, TMC develops industry‑recognized recommended practices that help fleet managers specify, maintain, and optimize vehicles while guiding manufacturers in equipment design. Its services span maintenance engineering, vehicle specification, voluntary standards development, and professional training, providing a consensus‑building platform for over 2,300 members across fleets, manufacturers, suppliers, educators, and service providers. TMC also delivers extensive knowledge‑sharing events, including two annual meetings, a large Transportation Technology Exhibition attracting thousands of attendees, and national technician competitions such as TMCSuperTech and TMCFutureTech. These programs foster networking, thought leadership, and skill development, positioning TMC as a central hub for innovation and best‑practice implementation in the trucking industry.
