About
The Hoya is Georgetown University’s oldest and largest student newspaper, serving as the campus’s newspaper of record since 1920. It publishes daily online and a weekly print edition each Friday during the academic year, which includes The Guide lifestyle magazine, and maintains a blog, The Fourth Edition, for lighter content. The paper distributes 4,000 free copies across 30 campus and neighborhood locations and continues to publish online year‑round. Operated entirely by nearly 400 undergraduate journalists, photographers, designers, editors, and business staff, The Hoya provides hands‑on experience in writing, editing, publishing, multimedia, finance, sales, and marketing. Under the leadership of an editor‑in‑chief and a general manager, students produce daily news, sports coverage, special‑interest issues, and multimedia content, making The Hoya a premier platform for aspiring media professionals to develop and showcase their skills.
