About
The UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) is an interdisciplinary hub that combines expertise in health, social, and biological sciences to advance research, education, and service aimed at reducing disease burden among the world’s most vulnerable populations. IGHS conducts high‑impact research on malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, maternal and newborn health, and reproductive health, while shaping public‑health policy and treatment strategies both locally and globally. Through its Master of Science and PhD programs in Global Health, IGHS trains the next generation of global‑health leaders and partners with academic institutions, ministries of health, international organizations, and industry across more than 50 countries to strengthen health systems and develop sustainable solutions for disease prevention and health improvement.
