1st Shift Production Technicians
Cardinal Glass Industries was established in 1962 as a fabricator of sealed insulating glass units in St. Louis Park, MN. Throughout the years, the company has grown and consists of a Mineral facility, Float Glass facilities, Tempered Glass facilities, Coated Glass facilities, Insulating Glass facilities, and Laminated Glass facilities. These facilities are located throughout the United States.
Production Technicians are responsible for operating production equipment, handling materials, and supporting manufacturing processes in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner. This position works as part of a team to produce glass products according to production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements. Production Technicians are expected to maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement while contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operation.
Essential Functions
- Read, comprehend and execute production/scheduling plan by following the production schedule
- Operate a computer
- Manipulate knobs on machinery
- Lift up to 50lbs or more utilizing a team lift
- Push/pull tables and racks of glass
- Verbally communicate with other production team members to coordinate tasks
- Assist in the insurance safe working environment for self and fellow team members by addressing safety concerns, training, and by holding team members accountable to Cardinal LG’s safety standards
- Works closely with Department Manager, Shift Manager, Supervisor, and/or other Production Team Members to supply necessary production information
- Follows all facility policies, rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Partners with Team Members by soliciting feedback and suggestions to improve departmental function and morale
- Behaves in an ethical manner and treats fellow team members at all levels with respect and dignity
- Communicates clearly and respectfully using all mediums: electronic, written, face-to-face and telephonic
- Participates in required trainings email, phones, radios, and in-person communications
- Accept more challenging assignments as experience and knowledge allows
- Train others to help them gain knowledge in your strength areas as needed
- Request additional trainings as concerns regarding processes arise
Shift Schedules: Schedules vary based on department
Environmental Conditions: This position exists in an indoor manufacturing facility. The work environment is a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, dust, and fumes.
Dress Code/Protective Gear: Work gloves, safety glasses, metatarsal guard leather boots. Certain departments within the facility do require the wear of supplied cut-resistant clothing
