Summary
The 2nd Shift CNC Operator is responsible for work duties related to the operation of PD CNC Machines. Efficiently moving Engineering Models through CNC machine-based programing to output workable parts for the Development team.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow blueprints, work orders, or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements
- Communicate clearly with Solid Shop Supervisor on daily output expectations
- Ensure equipment maintenance schedule is being followed
- Complete general equipment maintenance between each use
- Safely operate machinery to ensure no harm is done to employee or machine
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
- Report all incidents relating to safety with the Alpha Shop Supervisor
- Attend required meetings and trainings
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
- Fosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration, and empowerment
- Follows all safety and workplace policies
Competencies and Skills
- Operating knowledge of department processing equipment and processes
- Experience working with multiple material types (Wood, Metal, Plastic, Adhesives, Wiring, etc.)
- Expert level proficiency with reading Mechanical Drawings
- Expert level proficiency with Drawing Software (SolidWorks, Mastercam, etc.)
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate and apply PD’s workplace values
- Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- 3-5 years of previous experience
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the workday
- Must be able to climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work OT based on project needs
