3rd shift Shipping Supervisor

Job Description

Position Summary:
The Shipping Supervisor confirms and records the receipt of shipments and prepares items for shipping and receiving. In addition, they are responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures safety first operation of subordinates while demonstrating personal commitment to the safety culture.

  • Coordinate and execute transference plans with external partners including customers, suppliers, and transportation providers.

  • Understands performance analysis and operational impacts.

  • Communicates and creates training, gathers feedback, and recommends operational adjustments.

  • Works across functional lines to research and understand operational impacts and solutions that benefit the company.

  • Builds strong business partnerships and collaborates with customers, peers, and management.

  • Demonstrates logical and systematic thinking skills.

  • Utilizes creative methods to generate results and foster teamwork.

  • Strong commitment to ongoing personal development.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.

  • Must have automotive manufacturing shipping and logistics experience.

  • Be open and flexible for off shifts including 2nd and 3rd. This is a 2nd Shift position for now.

  • At least two years of supervisory experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possess the energy and drive to meet deadlines, accomplish goals and find solutions.

  • Excellent analytical skills where output data is actionable and accurate.

  • Excellent problem solving and follow up skills.

  • Strict attention to detail.
