A.S. Bryden - Service Centre Technician (Contract)

JOB PURPOSE

To support the Division with after-sales repairs of appliances and products, ensuring that technical skills, experience and knowledge are used efficiently to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform after-sale or in-stock service repairs to large appliances and other products according to experience, knowledge, best-practice and/or manufacturer’s instructions;
  • Daily complete repairs of large appliances to customer or stock units according to assigned schedule of repairs and appointments;
  • Ensure service cards are completed with clear and complete details on findings, remedy and comments;
  • Ensure the previous day’s job cards are completed and submitted to the Service and Warranty Supervisor on a daily basis;
  • Ensure the necessary parts, once in stock and available, are acquired and taken to customer appointments to minimize invalid recalls, return visits and dissatisfied customers;
  • Collect and submit evidence required to support claims and reports such as model, serial, defective parts, video recordings, damages etc.;
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times;
  • Ensure that all repaired appliances are cleaned of materials, fingerprints and any residue after the completion of repairs;
  • Ensure efficient use of Company resources, equipment, tools and uniforms are used as required and kept in a manner to prevent theft, misuse, loss and damage;
  • Practice Defensive Driving methods to minimise risks of accidents, injury and/or damage to the Company Vehicle and/or customer property;
  • Assist in the monthly scrapping of large appliances and products as identified by the Service Manager;
  • Assist with the preparation and repair of large appliances for Tent Sales;
  • Report any customer complaints to the Service and Warranty Supervisor and/or Service Centre Manager;
  • Monitor and maintain the performance and condition of the Company Service Vehicle, if applicable, and submit weekly Vehicle Inspection Forms to the Service and Warranty Supervisor or Manager.
  • In-House Technicians must ensure on a daily basis that all tools and equipment are stored neatly and the area is kept clean, free from clutter and tidy at all times;


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three (3) CXC passes, including English Language and Mathematics
  • E.C. Electrical Certification or certificate from a recognized Technical Institution
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role/environment
  • A valid Driver’s Permit with a minimum of two (2) years driving experience, Heavy-T would be an asset
