About the role:
As Account Director – Wellington, you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of agencies and key clients across Wellington and Christchurch. Working closely with your GSM, you’ll lead proactive sales conversations, respond to briefs with compelling JCDecaux solutions and build long-term partnerships that drive revenue, share growth and outstanding client experiences. You’ll be a trusted advisor to the market, championing JCDecaux’s products and data-led insights to help clients achieve their objectives.
A Day in the Life:
Whilst there’s no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following:
- Deliver to, and exceed, revenue and share targets across your allocated client and agency portfolio.
- Lead proactive sales activity: uncovering new opportunities, responding to briefs and presenting tailored, insight-led Out-of-Home solutions.
- Maintain a strong client contact strategy, driving high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Grow JCDecaux’s share by identifying incremental revenue opportunities (upweights, new formats, multi‑market campaigns).
- Represent JCDecaux in market, educating agencies and clients on new products, capabilities and long-term opportunities.
- Confidently present and negotiate at senior levels to secure short, medium and long-term commitments.
- Maintain a disciplined, accurate pipeline and forecasting in Salesforce, and work with internal trading and coordination teams to ensure smooth campaign delivery.
- Collaborate with Insights, Trading, Operations and Commercial teams to deliver high-quality, effective campaigns.
About You:
- Proven experience in sales, account management, ideally within media, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Exceptional relationship builder with credibility in the NZ media market
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of yield, inventory management and rate integrity.
- Confident communicator and presenter, able to influence senior stakeholders and negotiate win‑win outcomes.
- Self-motivated, highly organised and able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
