Role Overview
We’re looking for an Account Executive to grow Discovery Garden’s presence within libraries, archives, and higher education institutions in the United States. This is a full-cycle role responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing sales cycles, and guiding institutions through conversations about digital collections, repository modernization, migration, and accessibility.
Working closely with our Chief Revenue Officer, you’ll identify prospective clients, build relationships with key stakeholders, lead discovery and product demonstrations, respond to RFP’s and procurement processes, and guide opportunities through to signed agreements. In collaboration with our BDR’s, Marketing, and Operations team, you’ll be responsible for developing your pipeline through outreach, conferences, networking, webinars, industry engagement, while consistently advancing opportunities.
Our purpose is to make it easier for organizations to manage and share their digital collections. You’ll help prospective clients understand how Discovery Garden’s solutions can support their goals related to digital collections management.
While experience working with libraries, archives, museums, or higher education institutions is considered a strong asset, we are equally interested in candidates with a proven ability to build relationships, generate opportunities, and navigate complex sales processes. The ideal candidate is curious, consultative, self-motivated, and excited to learn a specialized industry while helping organizations solve meaningful challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sales, business development, account management, consulting, or a related field.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and industry concepts quickly.
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with outreach, presentations, webinars, conferences, or client engagement is an asset.
- Familiarity with digital collections, repositories, preservation systems, or library technologies is an asset.
- Experience working with libraries, archives, museums, or higher education institutions is highly valued.
What You’ll Do
- Generate new business opportunities through email, phone, social media, conferences, and professional networking.
- Build relationships with prospective clients across libraries, archives, museums, and higher education institutions.
- Lead discovery meetings to understand client goals, challenges, and requirements.
- Conduct product demonstrations and guide prospects through the evaluation process.
- Prepare and respond to proposals, RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Identify opportunities where Discovery Garden’s solutions can deliver value.
- Represent Discovery Garden at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
- Collaborate with technical and leadership teams to support sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking in HubSpot CRM.
- Stay informed about trends in digital collections, repositories, preservation, and related technologies.
