Account Executive, SMB & Creators
Overlap builds AI agents that automate social video. Our platform helps media companies, creators, marketing teams, sports properties, and brands automate their video marketing.
We work with customers including iHeartMedia, Barstool Sports, Yahoo, Almost Friday, The Volume, ARN, NZME, and many others. Together, our customers represent a major share of the podcast publishing and digital media space.
Customers use Overlap to scale content output, grow audiences, increase monetization, and replace manual video workflows with agents.
The Role
You’ll own the full sales cycle for SMB and creator accounts, from prospecting through close. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll build pipeline, run demos, close deals, and help define the repeatable sales motion for one of the fastest-growing categories in media.
This person understands that every media company and creator is under pressure to produce more content across more platforms with fewer resources. They should be excited to sell a product that immediately makes sense to customers because it saves time, increases output, helps grow audiences, and drives revenue.
This is not a role for someone who wants to wait for inbound leads. We’re looking for someone who can identify high-potential accounts, write sharp outbound, move prospects quickly, and close revenue.
What We’re Looking For
- 1 to 4 years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, creator partnerships, media partnerships, or a similar customer-facing role
- Strong written communication and the ability to write clear, direct outbound that gets replies
- Comfort selling to creators, founders, marketers, producers, editors, and operators
- Strong commercial instincts around budget, urgency, use case, and buyer motivation
- Ability to learn a technical product and explain it simply
- Comfort with outbound sales, rejection, and repeated follow-up
- High ownership, high agency, and low ego
- Interest in AI, video, social media, creators, podcasts, sports, entertainment, or media
- Willingness to work in-person in San Francisco
Bonus Points
- Experience selling SaaS, creator tools, media tools, marketing software, or AI products
- Experience selling to media companies, agencies, or small businesses
- Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, and short-form video strategy
- Prior startup, 0→1 sales, or founder-led sales experience
