Account Handler

Established in 1950 Balens have been offering specialist insurance across the Health, Well-being, Fitness and Beauty sectors since the early 1990s. Their insurance solutions are available for individuals and their businesses as well as organisations, charities, and the not-for-profit sectors and are looking for an Account Handler to join their team in Malvern.

Insurance Account Handler experience is preferred; however, Balen’s are happy to consider individuals with a genuine interest in insurance who are keen to learn and train on the job.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as a day‑to‑day contact for an allocated portfolio of clients, delivering a professional, responsive service.
  • Handle client enquiries (telephone, email and post), providing clear advice within authority limits and escalating where appropriate.
  • Administer new business, renewals and mid‑term adjustments, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Obtain and check quotations from insurers, prepare and issue documentation in line with Balens and insurer requirements.
  • Accurately process and maintain client, policy and financial data in the broking/CRM systems.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in an insurance broking, underwriting or financial services customer service role (desirable not essential).
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle queries in a calm, professional manner.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing data and documents.
  • Good organisational skills; able to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and manage competing demands.
  • Comfortable working with policy administration/CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
