Accountant Banking Team Lead
About the Role
As the Banking Team Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Banking Finance function, leading a team of Assistant Accountants while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of banking and reconciliation processes across our global business.
You'll also be instrumental in supporting Lovisa's continued international growth, acting as the banking lead for new store and new country openings while partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Retail Operations, IT, and external banking partners.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring and developing a team of four Assistant Accountants
Reviewing daily, weekly and month-end banking activities to ensure accuracy and completeness
Owning the balance sheet reconciliation process and daily bank reconciliations
Managing banking requirements for all new store openings, including merchant facilities, banking supplies, cash collections and terminal setup
Leading banking activities for new country launches, including merchant account establishment, payment platform implementation, cash float arrangements and banking compliance
Managing banking access across the business
Acting as the Banking representative in weekly Accounts Receivable meetings
Supporting month-end accounting activities, including journals, store banking reconciliations and Retail Operations reporting
Partnering with external auditors and supporting compliance requirements across multiple global regions
Driving continuous process improvements and supporting the integration of international bank accounts into Oracle Fusion as part of ongoing finance transformation projects
About you
You'll be an experienced finance professional who enjoys supporting teams, improving processes and working in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in an AA or Accountant, or Banking Finance role.
Part or Fully qualified CPA, CA
Available to work Monday - Friday onsite at our Hawthorn Support Centre
Strong understanding of banking operations, reconciliations and month-end processes
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop a high-performing team
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive mindset with a passion for identifying efficiencies and driving process improvements
The ability to build strong relationships across multiple finance functions
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with Oracle or Oracle Fusion (highly regarded)
