Accountant
Golden State Dermatology is a physician-led and owned dermatology group rapidly expanding across California, with over 47 locations. We are a leading medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology group specializing in skin, hair, and nail conditions, Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer, surgical and non-surgical cosmetic skincare, anti-aging, body contouring, and plastic surgery.
Join our dynamic team as an Accountant, where you will play a critical role in supporting the financial integrity and operational success of our growing organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing key accounting processes, supporting the monthly close cycle, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The Accountant will work closely with internal departments and external partners to reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, analyze financial data, and support audits and other financial reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to accuracy and continuous improvement in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of general accounting and accounts payable functions.
- Review daily bank account activity and ensure all deposits, including cash, checks, credit card transactions, and EFTs, are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Manage recurring and automatic payments, ensuring supporting invoices and documentation are properly maintained.
- Prepare and post intercompany journal entries and perform related account reconciliations.
- Coordinate and process monthly rent payments.
- Prepare and record monthly accruals and other month-end journal entries.
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage corporate credit card programs, including reconciliation, expense review, and compliance monitoring.
- Coordinate business license renewals and maintain compliance-related records.
- Prepare and file property tax returns and supporting documentation.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation tracking, and reconciliations.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.
- Provide audit support by gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to auditor requests as needed.
- Assist with financial reporting, process improvements, and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close processes.
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
