Accounting Manager - QuintRooms

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accounting and finance function of the QuintRooms division and Quint Rooms entity.
  • Own the monthly close process end-to-end, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and timely production of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies for Quint Rooms.
  • Responsible for the oversight and approval of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Directly supervise, coach and develop a staff accountant to support efficient team operations.
  • Manage and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable inclusive of the month-end close process, timely payment of vendor invoices, accurate record keeping and any necessary tax compliance filings (i.e. W-9 and annual 1099s)
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit as it relates to QuintRooms and various other third-party audits
  • Work directly with the SVP QuintRooms and QuintRooms operations team on financial projections
  • Strengthen financial controls and reporting discipline by maintaining audit-ready documentation, enforcing internal controls, supporting external audits, and improving accounting processes, systems, and workflows for accuracy and efficiency to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Partner with the VP, Accounting to support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage monthly recognition of deferred revenue and prepaid expenses
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and financial reporting projections for QuintRooms

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong understanding of GAAP; CPA required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years supervising direct reports.
  • Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition
  • Deep understanding of and recent experience with SOX, audit processes, and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting public company reporting as part of a business unit or segment within a larger public enterprise is preferred
  • Experience in global events, hospitality, travel, or similar industries strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct preferred
  • This role is based at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
