Accounting Officer

  • Financial Control & Reporting: Maintain a full set of books, project accounting records, and ledger balances; prepare timely month-end closing, financial analysis, and monthly variance reports against budgeted capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX).

  • Project Cost Control: Monitor project expenditure, track contract variations, review subcontractor payment applications, and audit heavy equipment or plant-specific procurement spending.

  • Cash Flow Management: Handle daily treasury functions, manage project invoicing, and prepare regular cash flow forecasts alongside aging analysis for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all financial transactions strictly align with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and internal group control policies; coordinate internal and external parties including auditors and tax advisors.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual budgets, quarterly rolling forecasts, and long-term financial modeling for site operations.

  • Support ad hoc tasks or assignments directed by the Finance Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.

  • Member or final-stage student of a recognized professional accounting body (e.g., HKICPA / ACCA / CPA Australia).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably gained within construction, waste management, joint ventures, or heavy utility/engineering project environments.

  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles, project costing methods, and Hong Kong tax regulations. High familiarity with major ERP software systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

  • Strong command of written and spoken English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across local project sites and corporate head office teams.

  • Strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving under tight monthly reporting schedules
