Accounts Officer

The Accounts Officer is responsible for supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, receipting, reconciliations, and reporting. This role contributes to maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial policies, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation

About the role

As an accounts officer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable operations
  
• Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and staff reimbursements accurately and within agreed timeframes
• Generate and issue customer invoices in line with business workflows
  
• Accurately apply incoming payments and receipts within the ERP system
  
• Monitor outstanding customer accounts and follow up on overdue balances
  
• Prepare and send customer statements
  
• Perform supplier and customer account reconciliations
  
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, queries, and disputes in a timely manner
  
• Assisting month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reporting, and reconciliations

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

• A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
• Experienced in within SMEs or project‑based businesses
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Comfortably working closely with project managers, vendors and suppliers.
• Confident, calm, and trusted, someone others naturally rely on
