Actuary

We’re seeking a commercially minded Pricing Actuary to provide actuarial analysis, pricing support and strategic advice across HCF’s product portfolio. Working closely with Product, Finance, Growth, Risk and Executive stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in product development, performance monitoring and business decision-making.
What you’ll be doing
Deliver actuarial analysis and insights to support product strategy, pricing and portfolio performance
Identify trends, risks and opportunities through analysis of product, customer and market data
Support the development, enhancement and implementation of new products and product features
Provide actuarial input into business initiatives, financial modelling and strategic projects
Monitor product performance and recommend actions to improve outcomes
Prepare reports, presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver product and pricing initiatives
Support regulatory, governance and compliance requirements
About you
Degree qualified in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
Progressing towards or qualified as a Fellow/Associate of the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent)
Strong experience in actuarial, pricing, product, portfolio analytics or insurance-related roles
Experience within Private Health Insurance is highly regarded but not essential
Candidates from general insurance, life insurance, health insurance, other analytical environments are encouraged to apply
Strong analytical, problem-solving and data interpretation skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience with SQL, SAS or other data analytics tools
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation
