Adjudicator's Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent provides administrative support to Benefit Adjudicators
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Logging all incoming correspondence into the department.
- Logging Admed Claims on Data Base and on Iseries. Ensure that all relevant forms and supporting documents are received and completed correctly; date stamping of all documents and return if all requirements are not received.
- Admed Exclusions. Obtain Admed Exclusion data from New Business that are to be entered on the Admed Database and enter message on I5 Series.
- Retrieving of claim files for adjudicators; filing claim files; coordination of files for scanning.
- Validation of Cheques and preparation for the cheque signatories
- Filing cheque payment vouchers, transmittals and receipts
- ACH Payments - Prepare ACH payments for Clients, legal representatives and Medical Institutions. Sending out ACH claim summary to Medical Institutions.
- Pre-claim advisory service (62-ADMED)
- Handles telephone queries from clients, agents and hospitals concerning Admed including, Claims procedures & requirements, Benefit Limits, Approved doctors & Medical Facilities.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with special projects
- Provide support to the Team Leader
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum 5 CSEC passes inclusive of Grade 1 or 2 in Mathematics and English A and
6 CAPE passes (full certificate) or an equivalent diploma or professional certificate.
Experience
At least one (1) year experience in a similar administrative or customer service role
Insurance industry experience would be an asset.
