Adjunct Instructor Legal Assisting/Paralegal Studies
Job Summary
Criminal Justice adjunct faculty members serve multiple roles as teachers, mentors, colleagues, and scholars.
Adjunct faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and to fulfill various responsibilities related to their assigned teaching duties. Adjuncts for Vocational Law Enforcement will need to have field experience, with certifications or extensive training courses taken in subject field related to courses being taught.
Nature of Work
Criminal Justice adjunct faculty is responsible for teaching an area of expertise within a specific period.

Performs other functions as required or assigned. Also complies with all Policies and Standards.

Skills/Abilities
Possess thorough and accurate knowledge in field/discipline.
Develop instructional materials; plan and organize instruction to enhance student learning; prepare the syllabi; and teach classes in a way that encourages student learning. Meet classes as scheduled.
Be accessible to students through e-mail, phone, or scheduled office hours or at other times.
Evaluate student work and maintain accurate records of students’ academic standing using LMS.
Provide students with constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback in a timely manner.
Respect the confidentiality of student information; refrain from discussing or releasing such information except within recognized limits.
Demonstrate integrity and positive interpersonal and communication skills.
Fulfill all expectations of adjunct faculty.
Demonstrate proficiency in technical area of expertise (Criminal Justice or related fields). Well versed in current teaching trends, techniques, resources, and technology for both onsite and virtual learning, as necessary.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree - Required
Master's Degree Criminal Justice (law enforcement, corrections, forensic investigation, or related field) - Preferred
