Required Degree:

MS in Educational Leadership, Education Law, or a related field. PhD or EdD in related field preferred.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

Qualified applicants will demonstrate the following:

  • In-depth understanding of school leadership and legal and ethical issues in schools
  • Understanding of modern educational systems, institutions, and practices
  • Experience effectively teaching in-person or online, or aptitude to do so
  • Commitment to Christlike leadership, teaching, and service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University-level teaching experience
  • Experience teaching in-person and online
  • Experience as a teacher or administrator in K-12 schools

Duties/Expectations:

The Educational Leadership and Foundations Department in the McKay School of Education is hiring an adjunct professor to teach a graduate course in legal and ethical issues for educators. The purpose of this course is to help prepare pre-service teachers to create safe and successful learning environments for all students. Preservice teachers will also be equipped to avoid misunderstandings or false allegations against them and to understand the purposes and means, the ethical grounding, and the reasons for ensuring equity, fairness, safety, and the established rights of the entire educational community of students, parents, and teachers. Duties will include teaching a 1-2 credit course, which involves planning and delivering lessons 1-2 times each week and grading students’ assignments.
