AI / Simulation Engineer – EMI/EMC Validation & Compliance
- Perform EMI/EMC modeling, simulation, and analysis of electronic systems including power electronics, high‑speed digital designs, PCBs, cables, antenna, and enclosures.
- Use full‑wave and hybrid EM simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, FEKO, SIwave, Maxwell) to evaluate conducted and radiated emissions, coupling paths, and shielding effectiveness.
- Provide design‑for‑EMC guidance covering PCB layout, grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and enclosure design.
- Support UL and regulatory compliance efforts by predicting emissions, identifying risk areas, and recommending mitigation strategies prior to certification testing.
- Assist with pre‑compliance testing, simulation correlation with lab data, and resolution of EMI/EMC test failures.
- Creating the V&V roadmap for different products as per UL Standard and conduct independent verification and validation and uncertainty quantification.
- Work closely with hardware, PCB, power electronics, product, and compliance teams to translate standards into actionable design requirements.
- Interface with UL labs and external test houses to support certification reviews, engineering judgments, and corrective actions.
- Develop technical documentation, simulation reports, and compliance evidence to support UL submissions and internal design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal EMI/EMC design guidelines and best practices.
- BE / ME / MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electromagnetics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience in EMI/EMC analysis, simulation, and validation for electronic systems.
- Strong foundation in electromagnetic theory, EMI/EMC coupling mechanisms, shielding, grounding, and signal/power integrity.
Proficiency in EMI/EMC simulation tools (HFSS, CST, FEKO, SIwave, Maxwell) with demonstrated ability to correlate simulations to test data.
- Working knowledge of global EMI/EMC and safety standards, including CISPR, IEC 61000, ISO 11452/7637, FCC, and UL standards.
- Hands‑on experience providing design‑for‑EMC guidance for PCB layout, grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and enclosure design, with the ability to influence hardware and PCB decisions to reduce EMI/EMC risk prior to certification.
- Proven experience in EMI/EMC modeling, simulation, and analysis of complex electronic systems (power electronics, high‑speed digital designs, PCBs, cables, antennas, and enclosures), including identification of emission sources and coupling paths.
- Strong expertise in conducted and radiated emissions, including prediction, mitigation, and correlation of simulation results with laboratory test data to improve first‑pass compliance.
- Experience supporting products through UL certification, pre‑compliance assessment, and failure root cause analysis.
- Prior knowledge and experience of V&V in EMI/EMC simulation. Perform independent verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification to ensure model credibility and traceability. Establish correlation metrics between simulation and physical test data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex EM concepts to cross‑functional and customer teams.
- Proactive mindset with interest in emerging technologies such as EVs, high‑voltage systems, and fast‑switching power electronics.
