Key Responsibilities
- Installation:Installing and setting up new AC units and their electrical components, such as compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Maintenance:Performing regular inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance to ensure AC systems operate efficiently and to extend their lifespan.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues, including faulty motors, fans, and wiring, and replacing defective parts.
- Testing and Adjustment:Testing newly installed equipment and adjusting system performance to ensure they meet operational standards.
- Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all maintenance and repair work performed, often using service management systems.
- Safety Compliance:Adhering strictly to safety procedures, regulations, and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Client Communication:Interacting with customers to explain technical issues, provide recommendations for system upgrades, and address their air conditioning concerns.
Technical Skills Involved
- Electrical Diagnostics:The ability to interpret electrical diagrams, troubleshoot wiring, and test electrical components.
- Mechanical Repair:Repairing or replacing various mechanical parts of air conditioning systems, such as belts, gears, and motors.
- System Knowledge:Possessing extensive knowledge of various types of AC units, including split systems, central units, and smart air conditioners.
- Refrigerant Handling:Understanding and complying with regulations for handling and disposal of refrigerants.
