Air Freight Officer

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the supervisor in developing and enhancing airfreight forwarding products in collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Sales and Marketing.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating daily shipment movements in line with operational requirements and customer needs.

  • Negotiate with airline or vendor for charges incurred and follow margin guideline to propose sell rate.

  • Verify accuracy of airline billing and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in airfreight operations, providing advisory support and contributing to business tenders, including those related to customs and trade compliance.

  • Implement corrective actions as directed by management in response to audit findings and operational gaps.

  • Continuously review and improve work processes to ensure alignment with current operational requirements and evolving customer expectations

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Diploma or bachelor's degree of any discipline, preferably in Logistics & Supply Chain/Business Administration.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in airfreight or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of IATA regulations; Dangerous Goods (DG) certification or knowledge is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with customs and trade control regulations; relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Proven ability in airfreight planning and coordination, including direct engagement with airlines, terminals, and internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Willing to work a 5.5-day work week on afternoon or night shift. Work timings are Mon to Friday, 12pm to 9pm or 8.30pm to 5.30am (+1 day) and Sat, 12pm - 4pm or 6pm to 10pm.
