Analyst III - Bus Intel

JOB SUMMARY

The Analyst III – Business Intelligence will be working in close partnership with Senior Leadership Team and IT to define KPIs, design and create executive reporting, and develop business scenario models. Guide analytic roadmaps and activities related to demand planning, segmentation, resource planning and allocation, company financial performance, and revenue optimization, and continually partner cross-functionally to ensure relevant and accurate performance data, metrics, reports and tools are in place to facilitate management of our business, improve revenue performance and maximize asset utilization.

This teammate will advise leadership on development of analytics capabilities, frameworks, and systems for sharing reports and dashboards across multiple areas of the organization, helping ensure consistency in the definition of metrics to analyze the business.

Finally, this individual will work closely with leadership as well as internal/external stakeholders to gain a holistic understanding of PODS business; facilitate shared learning, coach and develop analytics talent, and ensure business implications of insights are understood and actioned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define KPIs and metrics that provide thorough coverage of PODS business for Senior Leaders

• Support and inform operational reporting needs of cross-functional partners (both internal and external) and align those to Corporate KPIs

• Partner with leaders in Marketing, Sales/Service, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment on data definitions, interpretation, and consistent presentation

• Work alongside IT and Data Analytics team in the design and architecture of the reports and data structures needed to meet business needs. Be the liaison between commercial/operating functions and IT regarding Data, Data quality, Data governance.

• Lead the strategy for developing shared tools and reports to be used across multiple user groups

• Assist senior management in defining and managing the analytical agenda in support of revenue and profitability performance with a focus on sales funnel performance, asset utilization, revenue optimization; improvements in measurement; identification of key drivers of the revenue performance; and risk and opportunity assessment

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

• BS degree in a business discipline such as Finance, Marketing, Accounting or operations research, MBA desired

• 4 - 7 years of experience performing marketing or financial analysis, preferably in a fixed asset intensive industry such as Hospitality, Travel, Cargo Transportation, or in an Analytics Consulting role

• Strong communication and presentation skills to influence and expedite the decision-making process; experience working directly with and advising Senior Leadership is a plus.

• Ability to see the big picture and “tell the story” behind the data to drive consensus and action

• Understands the strategic levers of the business and how analytics is a catalyst for decision making

• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to put structure around vague and unstructured requests/discussions

• Ability to quickly solve problems in complex situations using creative and conceptual reasoning

• Experience working with Business Intelligence reporting and development using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, etc.

• Comfortable with SQL and large transactional data sets

• A positive team player with the ability to communicate effectively, influence cross-functionally and develop solid working relationships across multiple levels and organizational boundaries is required
