Android Engineer

You will write reliable, well-tested Kotlin code and collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to translate user stories into delightful mobile features. You will own medium-sized features end-to-end—planning, debugging, testing, and releasing to production—while improving mobile security, performance, and scalability. You will participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentor teammates when needed. You will use modern Android tooling and frameworks such as Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack Compose, Gradle, and Play Console to deliver and maintain consumer apps on Google Play.

Responsibilities

  • Write reliable, well-tested Kotlin Android code
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate user stories into features
  • Own medium-sized features end-to-end including planning, debugging, testing, and releasing
  • Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
  • Ship apps and manage release tracks on Google Play
  • Apply mobile security, performance, and scalability best practices
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers when needed

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional Android development experience
  • Proficiency in Kotlin
  • Familiarity with Java
  • Experience with Android Studio, Jetpack Compose/Views, Gradle, and Git
  • Hands-on experience shipping at least one consumer app to Google Play and managing testing tracks and releases
  • Solid grasp of asynchronous programming (Coroutines/Flow/RxJava)
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns (MVVM/MVI)
  • Commitment to unit testing and automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Clear communication skills and experience working in distributed teams
  • Growth mindset and receptiveness to feedback
  • Experience mentoring or pairing with junior engineers (nice to have)
  • Personal interest in crypto or fintech (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of advanced app-security or cryptography concepts (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with automated UI-testing frameworks such as Maestro (nice to have)
  • Experience with performance profiling and memory-management tools (nice to have)
  • An app or project on Google Play or GitHub you can demo (nice to have)
