API Developer (Offshore)
The API Developer will design, develop, and maintain RESTful/GraphQL APIs, ensuring efficient system integration across platforms such as ERP, CRM, and cloud applications. The role involves working with microservices architecture, API gateways, and middleware, while ensuring performance optimization, security compliance, and reliability.
The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an offshore delivery model, supporting global stakeholders and contributing to enterprise API strategy and governance.

API Development
- Design and develop RESTful/GraphQL APIs
- Ensure API scalability, reusability, and maintainability
- Manage API versioning, documentation, and lifecycle
Integration & Middleware
- Integrate enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, SaaS)
- Work with API management platforms (Apigee, Azure API Management)
- Implement event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Performance & Optimization
- Optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement caching, throttling, and rate limiting
- Conduct performance testing and tuning
Security & Compliance
- Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, API security standards
- Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies
- Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Testing & Deployment
- Develop unit, integration, and automation tests
- Support CI/CD pipelines
- Assist in production deployment and support
Collaboration
- Work with architects, product owners, and development teams
- Participate in design discussions and solutioning
- Coordinate with onsite/offshore stakeholders
Technical Skills
- 3+ years of experience in API development
- Strong knowledge of:
- REST/GraphQL
- JSON, XML
- Programming expertise in:
- Java (Spring Boot) / Node.js / Python
Integration & Architecture
- Experience with API gateways (Apigee, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway)
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with REST/SOAP web services
Database & Tools
- SQL: MySQL, PostgreSQL
- NoSQL: MongoDB, Redis
- Tools: Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
Security & Performance
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT
- Experience in performance optimization
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication (offshore coordination)
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
