Application Specialist

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Application Specialist to support our customers and Sales teams in delivering advanced structural test and measurement solutions. This role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, training, and field service work across the full measurement chain — including transducers, signal conditioning, data acquisition, and analysis software.
  • You will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring customers achieve exceptional results with HBK solutions while helping drive new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Customer-Facing Support

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison supporting the sales organization.
  • Understand customer test and measurement requirements and design/configure complete system solutions.
  • Provide expertise in structural measurement applications including Modal Analysis, FEA correlation, Operational Deflection Shapes, Shaker excitation, and related techniques.
  • Deliver high‑quality technical support via phone, email, remote sessions, or onsite visits.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, develop work‑arounds, and escalate bug reports or enhancement requests to development teams.
  • Proactively engage with existing customers to ensure optimal system performance and user satisfaction.

Training, Installations & Field Services

  • Lead customer system installations and conduct hands‑on product and application training.
  • Deliver onsite and virtual seminars, workshops, and webinars on Sound & Vibration theory and HBK solutions.
  • Participate in customer test campaigns, ensuring HBK systems perform reliably in real-world environments.
  • Provide preventive and corrective maintenance services.
  • Perform calibration of transducers and equipment, either onsite or in the HBK laboratory.
  • Execute contracted testing service projects at customer locations if required.

Pre‑Sales Support

  • Prepare and deliver high‑impact technical presentations for prospective customers.
  • Demonstrate HBK’s measurement systems, software, and integrated solutions.
  • Support internal sales and support teams through training on products, applications, and measurement theory.
  • Identify new sales opportunities through technical discussions and customer engagement.

Post‑Sale Support

  • Provide end‑to‑end customer assistance on application questions, system usage, and measurement best practices.
  • Resolve software and hardware issues, including troubleshooting, training, and escalating fixes with R&D.
  • Assist in developing efficient, practical solutions tailored to customer needs.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field), or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in Structural Testing & Analysis using tools such as BK Connect, Catman, or nCode is a strong plus.
  • Background in test and measurement systems — sensors, DAQ modules, and related equipment — is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in engineering services or consulting is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of PC hardware, networking, operating systems, and database troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Excellent communication and technical presentation abilities.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to take complete ownership of tasks.

Travel

  • Remote work is supported; however, up to 33% travel is expected.
  • Travel primarily within Brazil and South America, with occasional international travel (approximately once per year).

Salary range: $115,000BRL-$125,000BRL plus 10% bonus
