Responsibilities:

  • Learn, according to applicable apprenticeship standards for Press Technology, the knowledge and skills necessary to receive state certified journeyman’s papers upon completion of the program (typically 3 years)
  • Learn to install, align, and lock dies into rams or beds of machines
  • Set-up, operate and monitor progressive stamping die presses that punch, crimp, bend, etc.. to make quality metal parts
  • Test and adjust machine feeds and speeds. Record operational, quality, and shipping documentation
  • Clean and lubricate machines
  • Regular attendance for on-site apprenticeship classes
  • Follow all safety and quality programs and procedures
