Job Description

At Rabobank we want to deliver the best services possible for our engineers, and you as Solution Architect can play a central role in providing them.

You & your role

• As a Solution Architect within Tech4Dev, you shape the architecture that enables Rabobank engineers to build, test, and run high-quality software at scale. You work on platform and engineering capabilities that support the full software development lifecycle, from development to operations.

• You design and evolve cloud-native solutions that integrate seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines, developer platforms, and observability ecosystems. You translate architectural vision into practical, reusable designs and standards that engineers can adopt and build upon in their daily work—combining strategic direction with hands-on guidance.

• Working closely with engineers, Product Owners, and fellow architects, you influence how over 8,000 engineers and 400+ teams deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
  

Examples for practices

• Define and evolve architecture for developer platforms and engineering capabilities within Tech4Dev

• Establish standards and guardrails for integrating capabilities into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows

• Design reusable patterns that improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience

• Guide squads in adopting cloud-native, observable, and resilient system designs

Top 3 responsibilities

• You set and roadmap solution direction across different squads within Tech4Dev.

• You create and socialize end-to-end designs and solution architecture with squads, architecture colleagues, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.

• You mentor and coach squads to implement the architecture and support them with challenges throughout the DevOps cycle.

You & your talent

Must-haves:

• At least 3 years of Solution Architecture experience in complex enterprise environments

• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures (microservices, event-driven systems)

• Experience with scalable and distributed systems

• Ability to translate architectural vision into practical designs and standards adopted by teams

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and engineering platforms

• Experience with platform engineering or developer experience domains
