Area construction quality manager
The Area Construction Quality Manager oversees the quality management processes for the designated areas in the project.
You coordinate with various teams, ensuring compliance with the required safety, quality and environmental standards and delivering within scope, schedule, and budget constraints in close collaboration with the Project Construction Quality Manager to align with broader project objectives.
The Area Construction Quality Manager will be required to work on-site and travel as needed to various construction yards, and the position requires a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the project quality plan and inspection & test strategies during the construction phase within your designated area / scope.
- Supervise quality control activities across construction sites, ensuring compliance with codes, specifications, and approved procedures.
- Coordinate third-party inspection services, quality audits, and non-conformance management to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the focal point for quality-related issues with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and resolution.
- Proactively identify quality risks, contribute to constructability reviews, and recommend mitigation actions to project and construction teams.
- Support contractor and supplier qualification, ensuring traceability and conformity of critical materials and welding/fabrication activities.
- Report on close collaboration with the Project Construction Quality Manager, the quality performance, trends, and KPIs to the Project Management Team and contribute to lessons learned and close-out activities.
- Foster a culture of quality, promoting awareness and accountability throughout the construction organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in quality management, specifically in FPSO, FLNG or other oil and gas construction projects.
- Experience managing quality on complex, large-scale offshore projects, with a solid understanding of FPSO / FLNG or other oil & gas facilities design, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Proficiency in English is beneficial, especially for international projects with diverse teams.
