Art Specialist (Preschool)

Job Description & Requirements

Specialist Teacher has …

• At least a Diploma the specialized field (Art) , NAFA cert

• Excellent communication skills - spoken and written English

• Strong interpersonal skills, work with all levels of staff, professionals, parents and families, and community partners from diverse nationalities and cultures

• With or without early childhood experience; but should display the capacity to teach and the aptitude to interact and work with children.
• 2D and 3D and group projects with children

Curriculum and Pedagogy

• Engage in planning and implementing an age-appropriate curriculum that is customized to meet individual learning needs and optimal outcomes for all children.

• Manage an effective classroom that is focused on positive behavioural guidance.

• Engage in ongoing observations in the classroom from which to plan intentional teaching and learning strategies that are differentiated and customized to meet the diverse needs of children.

• Foster and enhance trusting, respectful relationships with children through positive Interactions with them.

Learning Environment

• Design, set up and engages in ongoing evaluation of learning spaces to promote an optimal learning environment for children.

Health, Safety and Nutrition

• Establish a safe and healthy environment, ensuring the day-to-day operational functions and SOPs pertaining to children’s care and well-being and safety practices are met.

Teamwork and Collaboration

• Facilitate effective and collaborative work teams, apply decision making, problem solving and emotional competence to manage self and teams at the workplace
• Involve and spearhead art fiesta and annual concert Art exhibitions and displays
