AS400 Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled AS400 Developer<\/b> with 3\u20135 years of experience in AS/400 development<\/b>. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting applications built on the AS400 platform. The candidate should possess strong expertise in RPG programming, CL, DB2/400, and system integration<\/b>.

Key Responsibilities
<\/h3>

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i / AS400 platform<\/b>.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Develop and maintain programs using RPG, RPGLE, CL, and SQL<\/b>.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Work with DB2/400<\/b> databases for data manipulation, query optimization, and reporting.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely solutions.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Collaborate with cross\-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Support system enhancements, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  <\/p><\/li>

• Maintain proper documentation for applications and processes.
  <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

  Required Skills
  <\/h3>

  • 3\u20135 years of experience in AS400 / IBM i development<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Strong experience in RPG IV / RPGLE / Free Format RPG<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Good knowledge of CL programming<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Experience working with DB2/400, SQL, and Query tools<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Knowledge of file handling (PF, LF, DSPF, PRTF)<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Experience in debugging and performance optimization<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Familiarity with source control and change management tools<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
    <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    Preferred Skills
    <\/h3>

    • Experience with API integration or web services on AS400<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Knowledge of modernization tools or integration with other platforms<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Exposure to Agile development methodology<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Understanding of EDI or legacy system integration<\/b>.

      Education

      • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field<\/b>.
