Assembler
At Maxcess / Valley Roller in Mansfield, TX the Assembler is responsible for the roll Disassembly/Assembly elements of the manufacturing process. In this position, the employee in charge of ensuring that each roll is carefully disassembled & reassembled to meet the customer’s specifications.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting production schedules, job router cards, blueprints, non-conformance reports, and any other materials that summarize requirements for the Bearing Assembly / Disassembly process
- Responsible for documentation of all Disassembly & Assembly Operations
- Responsible for locating and retrieving rolls to the Assembly / Disassembly area utilizing overhead cranes and various material handling equipment
- Responsible for ensuring Futura Rolls are carefully disassembled and reassembled with the entire customer specified parts per OEM specifications
- Responsible for creating a parts list for each job, to ensure parts are available at the time of reassembly
- Responsible for visually inspecting all parts and documenting abnormalities
- Ability to make a sketch of the general assembly to assist in re-assembly of the roll, including a list of all parts
- Create an incoming inspection report for customer service to address with the customer to ensure all required parts are ordered and arrive prior to final assembly
- Complete incoming inspection form that records all of the specific details regarding incoming journal inspections, bearing and parts inspection
- Use overhead crane, slings and straps safely per training to lift, shift or move rolls
Qualifications
- Language Skills
- Read, Write, and understand English
- Read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical documents
- Write legible documentation conforming to prescribed style and format
- Communicate effectively
- Mathematical Skills
- Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including Durometer gauges, Micrometers, Vernier diameter tapes, Dial indicators, Profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed
- Understands/applies basic math, including accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Other Skills
- Learn and utilize safe operating procedures
- Strong reasoning ability
Physical Demands
- Stand, bend, and stooping for extended periods of time
- Reaches by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Required ability to use finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects
- Vision ability within normal parameters
- Hearing within normal range
- Coordination to step over and maneuver around obstacles
- Demonstrates safe operating habits
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
