Assistant Accountant
What you'll be doing
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare accurate journal entries.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and financial schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for business units and management.
- Compile and submit half-yearly consolidation packages.
- Handle statutory reporting, including audit coordination, income tax, and GST submissions.
- Liaise with corporate secretarial agents for statutory filings and compliance matters.
- Coordinate with bankers on banking facilities and financial matters.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Guide and review the work of junior finance team members.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve operational finance issues, such as process gaps and documentation inconsistencies.
- Assist in process enhancements and system implementation initiatives.
- Perform other finance-related and ad-hoc tasks as assigned
What we're looking for
- Recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) or relevant degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years' experiences in handling full set of accounts
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in the use of accounting software (e.g.: AutoCount/Quick Book/SAP B1) and MS Office applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
