As an Assistant Claims Handler, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience managing claims across key products such as Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers (D&O), Cyber, and Financial Institutions insurance. You’ll develop your technical knowledge while building essential skills in analysis, negotiation, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the handling of Financial Lines claims under supervision, including Professional Indemnity, D&O, and related products

  • Review claim documentation, policy wordings, and related materials

  • Communicate with brokers, clients, insurers, and external partners/stakeholders in a professional manner

  • Ensure claims are handled in line with approved authority level, internal procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Proactively manage claim files ensuring all documentation is correctly filed and claims are regularly updated, diarised and managed proactively

  • Ensure that claims are handled promptly, fairly and with integrity in accordance with The Hartford claims management guidelines

  • Maintain portfolio of Financial Lines TPA/DCA loss bdx and payments

  • Maintain the highest standards of communication with claims management and underwriting to ensure that information on significant claims and claims trends is shared expeditiously

  • Liaise with other departments as appropriate including but not limited to Underwriting; Finance; Actuaries and Reinsurance

  • Attend market claim meetings as required

  • Ensure compliance with Lloyds minimum standards and all regulatory and statutory requirements relating to claims handling

  • Prior exposure to insurance, legal, or financial services environment

  • Interest in Financial Lines products and the London insurance market

  • Understanding of ECF, Docosoft system

  • 365 Copilot
