The role
To lead the Import-Export for Asia Expansion Market
The role manages and ensures compliance to import-export requirements, including relevant regulatory requirements in both existing and new sourcing lanes.
The role is expected to partner with the Business Unit (BU), Master Distributors, relevant Sourcing Units (SU), Business Development Teams and the Supply-Demand Planning team in establishing new lanes and monitoring of shipment milestones.
Lastly, the role is expected to drive cross-functional collaboration across other supply chain and business functions, as well, to drive end-to-end efficiency and operational excellence.
What you'll be responsible for:
1. Import-Export
- Be the team's go-to expert on the different import-export requriements for cross-border sourcing including regulatory-related ones
- Determine correct Incorterms for each sourcing lane to ensure compliance and avoid tax risks and unnecessary costs
2. Export Operations & Order Management
- Coordinate end-to-end export order execution from order placement to shipment dispatch
- Ensure timely booking with freight forwarders and alignment with shipment schedules
- Monitor shipment status and proactively manage delays, exceptions, and escalations
- Validate Incoterms, shipping conditions, and customer requirements
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of export documentation (e.g., BL, invoices, packing lists)
- Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations and internal policies
- Manage documentation corrections and revisions (e.g., BL amendments, consignee updates)
- Maintain proper documentation records and audit readiness
4. Master Data, Financial & Process Setup
- Coordinate creation and maintenance of UAPL codes for new customers, markets, and export flows
- Lead Transfer Pricing (TP) setup ensuring correct pricing structures and alignment with finance guidelines
- Manage and follow up on PRP (Purchase Requisition Process) to ensure timely creation of POs for export-related costs and services
- Ensure master data accuracy across systems (customer setup, pricing, documentation flows) to enable smooth execution
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the central point of contact across Supply Chain, Customer Service, Logistics, and Markets
- Align with planning teams on export priorities, allocation, and stock availability
- Coordinate with external partners (freight forwarders, customers, customs brokers) to ensure smooth execution
- Support resolution of shipment issues, including documentation discrepancies and customs queries
6. Performance & Issue Management
- Track shipment KPIs (OTIF, lead times, documentation accuracy)
- Identify root causes of delays/errors and drive corrective actions
- Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution with internal and external teams
7. Budget Coordinator for Select Expansion Markets
We're looking for someone who possesses:
Business experience in import-export, preferably within the Foods / Dairy Industry
Knowledge in Logistics Operations
Strong knowledge of internation logistics and export/import documentation
Strong business-partnering
Preferably background on Unilever International Operations
Strategic, highly adaptable and entrepreneurial mindset
Solid analytical skills, bias for action, responsibility and accountability.
Strong Communication and Project Management skills.
Strong team spirit, proactive approach to issues and opportunities.
Proven people management capabilities
Ability to operate through ambiguity
