Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage

Position Summary:

A passionate hospitality driven individual with exceptional social skills and the desire to co-lead the F&B service team in keeping with the reputation of the Coral Beach & Tennis Club. Exhibits a hands-on approach, always visible, personable and on the restaurant floor. Makes it a priority to build relationships with the membership of this private club, be the ‘go-to’ person and the ‘face’ of the restaurant.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of restaurants, bars, events, weddings, private dining and room service, beach F&B operations.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all F&B outlets.
  • Assists Director of F&B with monthly and quarterly inventory for all outlets, banqueting and catering.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of professional attire and grooming, hospitality and service for all service team members.
  • Ability to create food presentation displays to showcase culinary events, both weekly – seafood buffet and annually – Mother’s Day, Easter, Christmas.
  • Assist Director of F&B with the daily operations and manage the execution of all events and billing process upon completion.
  • Build relationships with members, make records in Northstar relating to their preferences for food and wine.
  • Manage the reservations process in Northstar to ensure the smooth running of each meal period while maximizing the opportunity to accommodate members and their requests.
  • Utilize Northstar to obtain management data to analyze and improve the F&B operation – average covers, average spend, inventories and more.
  • Assist Director of F&B with wine menu selection, remain current with all wine trends and drive sales.
  • Recruit, train and continuously educate all members of the F&B service team to ensure all service standards are extended.
  • Manage schedules and payroll in accordance with F&B labor standards.
  • Other duties as required by Management

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Possess a strong knowledge of restaurant POS system – Northstar is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of social media – ability to manage F&B promotions.
  • Maintain a high level of member guest contact throughout service hours.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform during emergency situations.



Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A Bachelors degree in Hospitality is preferred.
  • Three years of dining room supervisory experience in private club, required.

Licenses and Special Requirements:

  • Alcoholic beverage certification
  • Food safety certification



Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Required to stand for long periods of time and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
