Assistant Manager: Ocean Beach Resort, Umina

Ready to step into a role where no two days are the same and the beach is your backyard?

Join one of Australia’s largest and most established holiday resorts, where your leadership will help keep a fast-paced, high-volume operation running smoothly while delivering unforgettable guest experiences. With over 100 cabins, 300 sites, waterparks, pools and constant guest activity, this is BIG and seriously exciting opportunity.

A true 2IC opportunity, perfect for someone ready to step up, take ownership of the day-to-day rhythm of the resort and turn big-picture direction into on-the-ground results.

What you will do:

This is where you’ll really make your mark! As Assistant Manager, you’ll be the operational backbone of the resort, bringing structure, consistency and calm leadership to a busy, multi-department environment.

You will:

  • Act as the operational 2IC to the General Manager, translating strategy into consistent day-to-day execution
  • Maintain strong operational rhythms, ensuring tasks are tracked, followed up and completed
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership, supporting teams and resolving day-to-day operational challenges
  • Be the first point of support for team queries, roster challenges, guest concerns and inter-department issues
  • Support department leaders to stay focused, accountable and aligned to business priorities and standards
  • Assist with roster review, workforce planning and labour decisions to match demand
  • Oversee key banking, administrative and compliance processes with accuracy and consistency
  • Support safety and compliance activities, including incidents, hazard reporting and operational checks
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and team development
  • Step in to support or lead operations as needed during peak periods and busy trading times

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll be right in the middle of the action—keeping everything moving and making a real difference every day.

Working pattern: This role offers flexibility, with weekend work expected (Saturday being a key day). A typical pattern may include Tuesday to Saturday during peak and shoulder periods, with increased flexibility in off-peak seasons.

Accommodation: Available if required (but not essential to live onsite. You can choose what works best for you!)

What you will bring

We’re looking for someone who thrives in structure, enjoys being the “engine room” of operations, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly...even when things get busy.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a holiday park, resort, hotel or high-volume hospitality environment
  • Valid NSW Working with Childrens Check (Mandatory)
  • A background in a supervisory, duty manager, assistant manager or department head role
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, follow up and execute with discipline
  • A calm, practical and solutions-focused approach under pressure
  • Confidence supporting multiple departments and working across all areas of operations
  • A hands-on leadership style, with a visible presence across the resort
  • Experience with rostering, labour awareness and operational planning in a busy environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to reinforce standards while building positive team culture
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail across admin, compliance and financial processes
  • A proactive mindset. You don’t wait for things to go wrong, you stay one step ahead

Overall, an incredible opportunity to build your operational leadership capability at scale and be part of a resort where energy, pace and teamwork come together to create amazing guest experiences.
