Assistant Manager – OTC Liaison (APAC)

The Global Finance Shared Service Center supports the core business with finance related matters, covering a wide scope of activities across the globe. We ensure suppliers and artists are paid on time for the amazing work they create. We work closely with the local finance teams around the world which means we have an excellent understanding of how the company operates and are kept up to date with key developments in this exciting and fast paced industry. Our teams play a key role in ensuring Sony Music achieve their annual goals each year.
The OTC Assistant Manager (Liaison) - APAC serves as the primary bridge between the Global Finance Shared Services team and APAC affiliates, ensuring seamless, time-zone-sensitive service delivery. In this role, you will manage urgent operational items, coordinate territory support and ME affiliate calls, drive cross-functional collaboration, and act as a trusted point of contact for affiliates and internal stakeholders across APAC. What you'll do:
Communication, compliance & Time-Zone Coverage
- Serve as the designated liaison for affiliates during APAC business hours; handling time-sensitive matters such as invoice approvals and cash journal requirements with urgency and ownership.
- Escalate unresolved or recurring matters to the Global Process Lead
- Keep communication proactive and purposeful with management, affiliates, and internal teams to surface issues early, implement continuous improvements, and maintain stakeholder confidence.
- Coordinate with US and Mexico teams on cross-regional OTC topics, including meeting prep, shared agendas, and joint workstreams.
- Collaborate closely with vendor partner to support cross-training initiatives, operational readiness, and day-to-day communication priorities.
- Conduct regular touchpoints with local affiliates to ensure high-quality service delivery, gather candid feedback, and feed insights back into process improvements.
- Participate actively in team meetings to stay across OTC process updates, project progress, and task status across towers.
- Monitor Jira tickets and Cadency workflows with particular attention to Service Feedback submissions. Drive timely resolution, maintain accountability among stakeholders, and ensure appropriate SCE assignments where applicable.
Territory Support & Affiliate Relationship Management
- Serve as regional point of contact for APAC on GFSS service delivery, quality standards, and follow-up actions; proactively engage affiliates to ensure service continuity and resolve outstanding matters.
- Step in as time-zone backup to GFSS Mexico for APAC territory calls when needed.
- Own and coordinate Territory Support Calls (country and project-level), set frequency based on criticality and ensuring the right participants and agenda are in place each time.
- Coordinate and participate in post-month-end review calls with affiliates, ensuring actions are captured and followed through.
Projects Coordination & Process transformation support
- Support special projects and transformation initiatives where a time-zone or regional requirement exists, contributing to issue analysis, root cause identification, and coordination of corrective actions.
- Proactively identify and escalate recurring process issues, helping drive meaningful improvements rather than just managing symptoms.
- Work in alignment with established SOPs and support compliance requirements across all Liaison activities.
Who you are:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in finance shared services, OTC operations, or a related field; music or entertainment industry experience is a plus.
- Exceptionally organized and proactive, with a natural ability to manage competing priorities, drive cross-functional collaboration, and keep projects moving without needing to be chased.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP and JIRA; familiarity with Cadency, royalty systems, or sales systems is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to engage confidently with global affiliates and senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in APAC-aligned hours; hybrid model with approximately 2 office days per month from the Mumbai office.
