Assistant Manager, Venue Sales and Event Management (Performing Arts)

The Assistant Manager, Venue Sales and Event Management (Performing Arts) supports the development and execution of venue sales strategies while overseeing the planning and delivery of food and beverage events at WestK Performing Arts venues including Xiqu Centre, Freespace and WestK Performing Arts Centre (opening 2027). This role is responsible for driving venue revenue, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless event execution that aligns with the set commercial objectives.
The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders and hirers to maximise venue utilisation, grow commercial opportunities, and uphold the venue’s brand, service standards, and financial objectives.
You will be responsible for:
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve all WestK Performing Arts (PA) venues - Xiqu Centre, Freespace and WestK Performing Arts Centre - budgeted utilization and revenues target;
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across performing arts, corporate, NGOs, commercial and wedding segments;
- Solicit and pursue new catering sales opportunities for WestK Performing Arts venues;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, promoters, agents, and partners;
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and pricing to form sales strategy;
Event Planning & Management
- Oversee the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of events with the venue operations team support, from sales to post‑event review;
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination for food & beverage related events;
- Collaborate with technical, operations, appointed caterer and external vendors to ensure events are delivered smoothly;
- Ensure all events comply with safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements;
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver within agreed parameters; and
- Performing any duties from time to time as reasonably as assigned by the Authority.
You should:
- possess university degree in Art Administration, Event Management, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field;
- have minimum 4 years of working experience with up to 2 years in venue, hotel or event production agency is preferred;
- have strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills;
- have excellent client relationship management and communication abilities;
- have ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously;
- possess a can-do attitude with strong problem‑solving skills;
- be proficient in event booking platforms and Microsoft Office suite; and
- be proficient in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
