Location: Charlotte, NC (In-Market Role | Up to 40-mile radius from Uptown Charlotte)


Overview
We are looking for an energetic and hands-on Assistant Manager to play a pivotal role in a multi-week retail engagement program. This position assists the Market Manager by contributing to on-the-ground operations and supporting a team of Field Specialists to deliver effective program activity in a highly regulated industry (tobacco/nicotine). The ideal candidate excels in leadership, communication, and possesses a strong ability to motivate and guide teams in a dynamic convenience store environment. The Assistant Manager will serve as a daily operational leader, ensuring Field Specialists are prepared, supported, and performing at their best. This includes conducting site visits, providing real-time coaching, and addressing challenges as they arise to maintain program standards and compliance. They will assist with training execution, performance monitoring, and quality
assurance, ensuring every activation meets brand and regulatory expectations. This role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a proactive mindset to keep operations running smoothly across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
● Support and Reporting: Partner with the Market Manager to execute retail strategies and provide comprehensive reports on field activities and performance metrics
● Retail Communication and Relations: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with retail partners to ensure smooth program operations, addressing and resolving issues with professionalism.
● Leadership and Development: Guide and develop Field Specialists by providing essential tools and knowledge. Assisting with regular training sessions and ongoing support.
● Program Optimization: Collect and analyze on-site feedback to refine program tactics, while implementing effective solutions to boost program efficiency.
● Inventory Oversight: Aide in distribution and tracking of program materials and assets, ensuring timely communication of issues and escalation as needed.

Qualifications
● 1-3 years of experience in field marketing, brand activation, retail engagement, or similar roles.
● Proven supervisory experience with a strong focus on team development and coaching.

● Solid understanding of compliance requirements in regulated industries and the ability to enforce guidelines consistently.
● Highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
● Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and articulate detailed product information.
● Strong communication skills with a talent for building meaningful relationships.
● Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
● Must be 25+ years of age with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
● In-market travel required up to a 40-mile radius.
