ASSISTANT PROJECT ENGINEER

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and Project Engineers in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
  • Support site coordination activities with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities to facilitate smooth project progress.
  • Monitor and report on daily site activities and construction progress, highlighting any delays, issues, or discrepancies to the project team.
  • Assist in supervising site operations to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions under the guidance of senior project staff.
  • Coordinate and follow up on material deliveries, site inspections, testing requirements, and subcontractor activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, including site records, daily reports, inspection records, progress updates, and as-built drawings.
  • Assist in resolving site coordination and technical issues by liaising with relevant stakeholders and escalating matters when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, and project discussions, and prepare meeting minutes where required.
  • Support project commissioning, testing, inspections, and handover activities to ensure successful project completion.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or management to support project delivery objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum1–3 years of relevant experience in building construction projects. Fresh graduates with strong academic qualifications and internship experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in commercial, institutional, residential, A&A (Addition & Alteration), or mixed-use development projects will be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, site coordination, and project execution processes.
  • Abilityto read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Familiar with local building regulations, authority requirements, and workplace safety standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic project management software.Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM software will be an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced construction environment.
