Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Working within the planned commercial team, and being driven by the Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the day to day management of commercial requirements within the business such as:

  • Assisting the commercial team with administering the contract as and where required
  • Supporting the preparation and updating of internal project forecasts
  • Assisting with the CVR process
  • Assisting with the preparation of applications for payment
  • Supporting the commercial team with building compensation event quotations and recovering value where entitled
  • Preparing and issuing subcontract orders and assisting with subcontract management across the projects as required
  • Preparing final accounts and assisting with the substantiation of audit requests
  • Visiting sites and attending meetings as and where required
  • HNC/HND in Construction or a related subject or desire to undertake this
  • CSCS
  • Use of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with a cost management
    system
  • Strong understanding of basic quantity surveying
    principles, including measurement, cost control,
    and valuation
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings,
    specifications, and method statements
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts (particularly
    NEC4), including early warnings, compensation
    events, and payment mechanisms
  • Ability to assist with preparing applications for
    payment, variations, final accounts and
    subcontractor accounts
  • Ability to manage workload efficiently and
    ensuring deadlines are met
  • Knowledge and previous application of
    subcontract management including drafting
    subcontract orders
